Marianne Heggtveit:
The intricacies of woven fabric have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. How two thin and very long ‘things’ – threads – can bring about a solid, pliable object – fabric – in a myriad of varieties is truly wondrous to me. But, over the years I realized that weave structures or techniques are never ends in themselves. They are, together with other aspects of design such as colour, fibre and texture, just one element necessary to create a piece of cloth. My fascination of and challenges in creating cloth continue.
